So wow, no one has written in this in years. Let's fix that.
18 August 2006 @ 12:31 pm
After three or four years of writing songs (eight years of percussion) , I will be making my last scheduled performance tonight at Acoustic Java with Danielle and Julie. Traphiq has been a huge part of my life, even if it's only been three years this September. I've learned so much, and it's helped me become who I am today. As much as I cringe when I look back on those three years, I appreciate everything that has happened. Traphiq has been mocked and scoffed at, but I think that's all about to change. Don't get me wrong, I laugh and shake my head at old videos and recordings...but tonight's going to be different...tonight's going to be special...

MySpace is going downhill fast. Lately it's been getting worse and worse. I don't understand how they can crash so much, it's summer not many people have been on lately...or are they not on because they can't sign in? I'm signed in right now, but I noticed it acting funny. My top friends list was missing people, comments were missing, a couple people here at my work couldn't sign in and they may have been deleted. So I'm just gonna write in here for now. I miss this community anyway, I haven't written in it for a long time.

If summer were part of a meal it would be the dessert. It's the most desired among many, it's sweet, and it doesn't last as long as the other courses. As hard as I try to make summer last, it always flies by so fast...oh...I didn't mean to rhyme that...

August is almost here, and Danielle and I have booked one show at Acoustic Java for Friday August 18 at 8:00pm (that time may change, we'll keep you posted)...and that will feature a very special guest: Julie Metcalf. The last time I shared a stage with Julie it was January 1, 2005. Never before has she played with Danielle and I as a trio. Um...if you're a new reader and have no idea what I'm talking about...Julie took part in the dawning era of Traphiq back in late 2003...She plays violin, and she's quite professional. She has been involved with many different orchestras and groups and such. Long time musician. We are both very excited to play a show with her.

Another very special guest will be Stina Simmarano, who plays her awesome solo material and cover songs. We go way back, as most of you know. We've done many shows together. The last show we did together was last New Year's Eve...which wasn't a whole lotta fun with the crappy weather and the headliner was missing in action. What better place to reunite for another than the Acoustic Java?

Okay I'm rambling...

Basically I wanted to mention the show featuring Julie and Stina, and the fact that a couple of things didn't really work out as we had planned. It's been a very odd summer for us. I promised a cd, but it looks like I couldn't keep that promise. It's all for the best though. That and traphiq.com is deader than dead...I do hope to make a site (in which I don't have to pay for)...something easy with simple pages...if you know someone who knows how to do this, please let me know. Otherwise we'll just stick with the MySpace...that is if it doesn't crash on us...

I think I wrote enough. Thanks for reading if you got this far. - S.T.

Hey guys, what's up? Nice weather we're having, I must say. This community has yet another new look, thanks to Kelly :) I think it looks great, hope it's easy to read on yer end.

The big show is only 15 days away (not counting today, or the day of). The suspense is killing me. The excitement is in the air. Last night The Foundation played at the open mic, and it really got me goin'. I can't wait. It shall be a show to remember...

Things are looking up for the band, and it's exciting. Saturday evening I'll be holding a rehearsal in my basement with The Sancho and the new drummer Alley, it's gonna be fun. I haven't really had a traditional practice in a while, so it feels good that we're taking one more step towards serious.

The posters for the March 24th show are fucking awesome. I gotta take some pride in that artwork, everyone loves it. I'm especially glad that the boys of P.G. appreciate it. The town will be painted with them very soon. The 24th show is gonna be a blast, I'm so excited, you'll definitely get your money's worth...that I promise you...and oh yeah...it's Brian's last show with us...if I haven't mentioned that already...
